On the way back from Kings Canyon and Kathleen Springs we seen some wild camels that were just casually grazing at the side of the road. (Pics) About an hour after seeing the camels we were driving along when I could see the road blocked with what we thought at first were cows but instead it turned out to be a herd of horses. We managed to take a few photos of them before they finally moved off the road. Later on we did see some cows walking along the side of the road. After a few more hours of driving we were on another highway when again the road was blocked with what we think was the same herd of horses again we tried to take photos but they moved to the other side of the road and there was some oncoming traffic. I had to sit with my hazards on as it's so dark you could hardly see them, thankfully the cars slowed down which is just as well as the horses seen the lights and ran out in front of the cars.
These animals also prove quite interesting when in rest stops having dinner. Whilst in Richmond we were sitting on the back of the van eating when a kangaroo ran from left to right no more than 10 metres in front of us! It has to be one of the weirdest things you can think of seeing when sitting having pasta.
Another night we had pulled in at a rest stop at the start of the Nothern Territory to have dinner. I was at the back of the van making the dinner when I seen something out the side of my eye it was a Dingo I jumped and so did it. I shouted on Colin but by the time he came round it was running away. Once we had finished dinner we were gettin ready to drive again I was about to climb in the drivers seat when Colin says to me safely from the passenger side there is a dingo knowing that I couldn't see it only meant that it was behind me so I tried to jump into the drivers seat and around to see the dingo at the same time and smacked my head off the roof and was half in half out the car with this Dingo still standing 2 meters away from me staring after few minutes it got bored and ran away.
