Our first stop on leaving the farm was the Gold Coast. This is a small area only 35km long but it is crammed with tourist activities and hosts over 2 million tourists per year. Many people say that it has more in common with Miami or Las Vegas due to the nightlife, shopping and theme parks that are on offer. This area not only has many beach and surf destinations, but in the Hinterlands it also has some great National Parks with rainforests up in the mountains.
On our first day in the Gold Coast we checked out Surfers Paradise. This was a buzzing town and it felt good to be back on the tourist track again. We spent the morning walking around the town and checking out the beach before deciding to move on and check out the mountains inland.
