In one of the parks, Fitzroy Gardens, the house of Captain Cook's parents is situated. It was originally built in 1755 by his parents in a small English village called Great Ayton. The house was taken apart and shipped to Victoria in 1934 before being rebuilt in the gardens to commemorate Captain Cook who in 1770 mapped the East coast of Australia from Point Hicks in Victoria to Possesion Island, North Queensland. It is dubbed "the oldest building in Australia".

Also in this park was a small model Tudor village that was presented to the city of Melbourne from the village of Lambeth, England. This was a token of appreciation from the town for food that was sent from Victoria during a food shortage shortly after World war II.

In addition to this there was your usual fountains that I didn't miss an opportunity to take a picture of.

One of the other parks that we came across also had some tribute to John F Kennedy:

You may also have noticed my new hairdo from these pictures. This came about due to my cheapness in getting Gemma to give it a trim every now and again, however the last time she must have been getting sick of it and sabotaged my hair by giving me what looked like a bowl cut!! Therefore my hair had to get shaved for the first time since I was at high school.
We managed to get ourselves a cheap car rental for a few days to Adelaide. It wasn't exactly what we wanted as we were after a van but at least we will be able to drive the Great Ocean Road starting tomorrow so that should be really cool!
